Albinism awareness toolkit now available online
24/06/2025
As part of the APPASAAS project, the Fondation Pierre Fabre is deploying various activities to strengthen the dissemination of verified educational information aimed at improving the protection, inclusion and referral of people with albinism to appropriate care structures.
Informing people about albinism is necessary to encourage preventive action and contribute to appropriate care. Lack of knowledge about albinism increases the spread of misinformation and perpetuates the myths and beliefs at the root of discrimination and human rights violations against people with albinism. Raising awareness means promoting the inclusion of people living with albinism.
To address these issues, many organizations hold awareness-raising sessions for various groups, such as children, rural communities, persons with albinism, their families and friends. These associations have expressed the need for appropriate tools to support their work and increase the effectiveness of their activities. Although many tools already exist, they are not always easy to find. This is why a toolbox has been developed and made available on the Fondation Pierre Fabre website. It brings together various resources, classified by theme, which are easy to consult and download.
