Call for applications (doctors or gynecologists) for specialized training in vaginal surgery at Panzi Hospital, Democratic Republic of the Congo

12/06/2024

In line with its activities to strengthen the capacities of Central African medical professionals and to care for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, the NENGO project is launching a call for applications to enable three doctors or gynecologists from the Central African Republic to undergo specialized training in vaginal surgery in Bukavu in the DRC.

The scholarship will cover the costs of enrollment, visa, transport, meals and accommodation during the three-month training period (from July 15 to October 15, 2024).

The training is provided by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Université Evangélique en Afrique (UEA), headed by the renowned Doctor Denis Mukwege, Nobel Peace Prize laureate for his commitment to women victims of sexual violence and an iconic figure in the fight for women’s rights in the DRC and around the world.
This program mobilizes international stakeholders to train general practitioners and specialists so that they are able to perform these crucial surgical procedures in their own practice.
