 eHEALTH
CONTEXT
and challenges
The countries of the Global South often suffer from a shortage of trained health workers and insufficient health and transport infrastructures, but at the same time, they do benefit from a high penetration rate of mobile and internet-based services. This reality opens up new public health opportunities for populations that are unevenly distributed across countries, because today’s Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs) make it possible to shrink distances, train healthcare personnel, cut costs and provide assured and effective patient follow-up. To help local entities seize these opportunities, Fondation Pierre Fabre has developed monitoring, research and support programmes covering every aspect of e-health.
A pioneering commitment.
