Haiti is on the United Nations\u2019 list of least-developed countries and is facing major health challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Foundation, which has been working on sickle-cell treatment programmes on the island since 2014, supports the multiple episodes that the RFI \u201cPriorit\u00e9 Sant\u00e9\u201d radio programme is devoting to projects that improve inhabitants\u2019 access to healthcare.\"\"<\/p>\n

The Foundation\u2019s work includes an ambitious programme of neonatal and early diagnosis of sickle-cell disease<\/a> and treatment for patients diagnosed at the Saint Damien Paediatric Hospital in Port-au-Prince. This programme will later be extended to other Port-au-Prince hospitals. The results of this programme will also help make public authorities more aware of the interest of having a national programme to combat sickle-cell disease coupled with a viable and adaptable care model.<\/strong><\/p>\n
