<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/i><\/div><\/i><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>09\/11\/2023<\/strong><\/p>\nOn November 8, 2023, the Pierre Fabre Foundation presented the four selected projects supported as part of its annual regional call for projects. These projects will contribute to improving access to healthcare for underserved populations in Burkina Faso, Haiti, and Madagascar.<\/strong><\/p>\nFor the eighth consecutive year, the Pierre Fabre Foundation has chosen international initiatives, led by associations based in Occitania, working in the fields of Health and Development. The 2023 call for projects was launched in November 2022 in partnership with La Guilde, an incubator for micro-projects of international solidarity led by French associations, and Occitanie Coop\u00e9ration, the regional network for international cooperation and solidarity.<\/p>\n
The 2023 laureates were rewarded during an award ceremony held on Wednesday, November 8, at its headquarters in Lavaur, in the Tarn, in the presence of Pierre-Yves Revol, President of the Pierre Fabre Foundation, Michel Vilbois, Prefect of the Tarn, and Bernard Carayon, Mayor of Lavaur. Each association received financial support ranging from \u20ac5,000 to \u20ac30,000, contributing to the implementation of their projects.<\/p>\n
Since the launch of this initiative, 139 projects have been submitted, and 40 have been selected and received funding. The total amount of grants awarded since 2016 amounts to just over half a million euros.<\/p>\n<\/div>

\nStrengthening the healthcare center of Timbou\u00e9 and the organic vegetable gardens of Goums\u00e9 and Timbou\u00e9 in Burkina Faso.
\nThe first part of this project aims to address the main structural deficiencies of the healthcare center and provide support in supplying small equipment and consumables for the healthcare center and maternity ward of Timbou\u00e9. The development component of this project aims to strengthen support for the operators of the two organic vegetable plots in Timbou\u00e9 and Goums\u00e9, built in 2020 and 2022, respectively.<\/p>\nGroup of Actors for Sustainable Development (GADD)<\/strong> \u2013 Saint-Orens (31)
\nContributing to the well-being and health of isolated villagers in rural areas of Burkina Faso.
\nBy leveraging the proximity of wells and access to clean water, GADD proposes a prevention policy for the women, men, and children of the village:\u00a0 1 – Raising awareness about the rational use of clean water to limit the spread of diseases, 2- Using the Dawan\u00e9gomd\u00e9 facility (and contributing to its construction) to accommodate the population and raise awareness about hygiene concept, 3- Conducting screening campaigns in village families through simple checks (blood sugar levels, blood pressure, temperature, etc.) to identify possible diseases and raise awareness about food concerns (balance, precautions in case of diabetes), 4- Actions against malaria.<\/p>\nGrowing in Haiti<\/strong> \u2013 Albi (81)
\nImproving the nutrition of children at the Notre Dame de Lourdes home in Haiti.
\nIn the context of growing food insecurity in Haiti, this project aims to promote the emergence of sustainable dietary habits by increasing the protein intake of meals for children at Notre Dame de Lourdes through the collaborative establishment of a pig farming operation managed by the home. The project also includes a training and awareness component for children and their families about the importance of local products in nutrition.<\/p>\nMad’Energie<\/strong> \u2013 Montberon (31)
\nSecuring the power supply of the Emergency Call Center of the firefighters in Antananarivo.
\nIn close partnership with the AKAMASOA association, the objective of this project is to stabilize the power supply of the Emergency Call Center of the firefighters in Antananarivo to ensure the safety of interventions in all circumstances. These projects will contribute to improving access to healthcare for underserved populations in Burkina Faso, Haiti, and Madagascar.<\/strong><\/p>\n For the eighth consecutive year, the Pierre Fabre Foundation has chosen international initiatives, led by associations based in Occitania, working in the fields of Health and Development. The 2023 call for projects was launched in November 2022 in partnership with La Guilde, an incubator for micro-projects of international solidarity led by French associations, and Occitanie Coop\u00e9ration, the regional network for international cooperation and solidarity.<\/p>\n The 2023 laureates were rewarded during an award ceremony held on Wednesday, November 8, at its headquarters in Lavaur, in the Tarn, in the presence of Pierre-Yves Revol, President of the Pierre Fabre Foundation, Michel Vilbois, Prefect of the Tarn, and Bernard Carayon, Mayor of Lavaur. Each association received financial support ranging from \u20ac5,000 to \u20ac30,000, contributing to the implementation of their projects.<\/p>\n Since the launch of this initiative, 139 projects have been submitted, and 40 have been selected and received funding. \nStrengthening the healthcare center of Timbou\u00e9 and the organic vegetable gardens of Goums\u00e9 and Timbou\u00e9 in Burkina Faso.
\nThe first part of this project aims to address the main structural deficiencies of the healthcare center and provide support in supplying small equipment and consumables for the healthcare center and maternity ward of Timbou\u00e9. The development component of this project aims to strengthen support for the operators of the two organic vegetable plots in Timbou\u00e9 and Goums\u00e9, built in 2020 and 2022, respectively.<\/p>\n
\nContributing to the well-being and health of isolated villagers in rural areas of Burkina Faso.
\nBy leveraging the proximity of wells and access to clean water, GADD proposes a prevention policy for the women, men, and children of the village:\u00a0 1 – Raising awareness about the rational use of clean water to limit the spread of diseases, 2- Using the Dawan\u00e9gomd\u00e9 facility (and contributing to its construction) to accommodate the population and raise awareness about hygiene concept, 3- Conducting screening campaigns in village families through simple checks (blood sugar levels, blood pressure, temperature, etc.) to identify possible diseases and raise awareness about food concerns (balance, precautions in case of diabetes), 4- Actions against malaria.<\/p>\n
\nImproving the nutrition of children at the Notre Dame de Lourdes home in Haiti.
\nIn the context of growing food insecurity in Haiti, this project aims to promote the emergence of sustainable dietary habits by increasing the protein intake of meals for children at Notre Dame de Lourdes through the collaborative establishment of a pig farming operation managed by the home. The project also includes a training and awareness component for children and their families about the importance of local products in nutrition.<\/p>\n
\nSecuring the power supply of the Emergency Call Center of the firefighters in Antananarivo.
\nIn close partnership with the AKAMASOA association, the objective of this project is to stabilize the power supply of the Emergency Call Center of the firefighters in Antananarivo to ensure the safety of interventions in all circumstances. The completion of this project will better serve the population and effectively combat fires, hazards, or accidents threatening public safety in the Urban Community of Antananarivo.<\/p>\n<\/div>
